“My middle name is summed up in one word: ‘Quality entertainer,’” Lowe says before guiding us to simply sit back, relax and enjoy the show. He opens with ‘Stoplight Roses’, the maiden track on his latest record The Old Magic, which he awkwardly plugs early on. Attempting to be waggish, Lowe claims the band had to record a new cut to hit the road and make money off it. He talks of his musical relevance in the modern age, plays a slew of new tracks leaning towards a rockabilly style with ‘I Knew The Bride (When She Used to Rock’n’Roll)’. It’s a highlight, yet a run of similar rockabilly tunes thereafter seem to play out for too long. Full review here.
